[REVIEW] Foreclosed – Um futuro mal polido
Aparentemente, nos últimos meses anda acontecendo uma crescente de games ambientados em um mundo Cyberpunk, e isso me anima bastante por ser um admirador do tema. Foreclosed é mais um nessa equação, que mistura um ambiente futurista com aspectos de quadrinhos, e vai te colocar na pele de Evan Kapnos, um rapaz vivendo nesse universo e que recentemente ficou sem seu emprego na Securtech. Kapnos descobre então que estão tentando acabar com sua vida, mas precisa descobrir o motivo para tal.

Depois de ser perseguido por agentes armados, nosso protagonista descobre que está sendo vigiado e ajudado pela ex-chefe da gigante corporação Securtech, Dalia Khari, que acabou de declarar falência, mas ficamos sabendo que na verdade tal coisa aconteceu por causa de um golpe dado na dona da empresa. Agora você precisa ajudá-la, já que vocês possuem interesses em comum: o investidor da Securtech quer se livrar de todos os firmwares modificados para testes para não serem usados como provas, e você tem um deles em seu corpo.
Como o mundo é altamente tecnológico, as pessoas possuem implantes em seus corpos. Em nosso caso, estamos rodando um firmware de testes, e graças a isso temos a capacidade de adicionar habilidades em nosso corpo e no equipamento que portamos. É possível, por exemplo, criar um escudo protetor em volta do personagem, que dura alguns segundos e o protege de tiros dos inimigos. Em relação à arma, podemos adicionar vantagens como tiros explosivos e tornar a pistola em semi automática.
Porém, nem tudo são flores, e se faz necessário equilibrar bem o uso de suas habilidades, já que o excesso de utilização delas faz com que seu corpo superaqueça, te deixando imobilizado e sofrendo a dor por alguns poucos segundos até poder se mexer novamente, ficando com a guarda completamente aberta.
Agindo na surdina
Outros momentos exigem furtividade de nossa parte. Podemos realizar uma sequência de botões que aparecem em cima de torretas equipadas com metralhadoras para darmos um curto-circuito nestas (uma animação bem grosseira, aliás). O mesmo pode ser feito contra inimigos humanos, porém, apenas usando o botão X repetidamente para afetar sua mente e os eliminar. Esta sequência de comandos é utilizada para solucionar puzzles, abrir portas e também tampas de dutos de ar.
Mais à frente, liberamos a telecinese, um poder que podia ter sido melhor executado e polido. Com o R, levitamos um objeto em destaque para, ao soltar o botão, arremessá-lo em direção a um inimigo marcado na tela – quase sem fluidez nenhuma para o movimento. Já com o L é possível segurar esse objeto em sua frente e levá-lo contigo, para utilizá-lo como escudo contra lasers e afins. Porém, a animação dessas duas abordagens da telecinese são bem “secas”, mostrando que o jogo precisava ser melhor trabalhado nessa questão. O mesmo serve para os tiros com a pistola, que praticamente não transmite a sensação do coice para o jogador, novamente, por causa da animação ruim.
Exploração bacana, mecânicas de tiro fracas
A exploração é o elemento, sem dúvidas, mais bacana de todo Foreclosed. Muitas vezes é necessário escanear mecanismos eletrônicos dentro de paredes para ativá-los e abrir portas, ligar controladores de guindastes e plataformas para criar novos caminhos em precipícios sem qualquer tipo de passagem entre uma superfície e outra, além de procurar mais de uma fechadura eletrônica para liberar portas que barram seu caminho até o próximo destino.
Já o que pensei que seria minha “praia”, acabou sendo uma decepção das grandes. As mecânicas de tiro em terceira são maçantes e enfadonhas, sendo que eu torcia o tempo todo para que acabassem logo. O protagonista não sabe atirar agachado, deixando seu corpo completamente à mostra ao atirar em inimigos.
Sua corrida também é bem desajeitada e não é beneficiada pela câmera ruim, que não se afasta quando corremos por aí. Senti bastante falta de utilizar paredes e outros obstáculos como forma de me proteger de tiros, mas a única forma de fazer isso aqui é no feeling, usando alguma parede ou pilastra como seu escudo apenas posicionando-se atrás destas.
Foreclosed é relativamente linear e só permite uma solução para todos os desafios existentes. Não temos uma liberdade plena de quebrar coisas e liberar passagens utilizando mais de uma forma, mas aquilo que foi pré-definido é a chave para avançar e ponto final. A inteligência artificial também é péssima, e você pode eliminar um inimigo na frente do outro e deixar seu corpo caído por ali e, mesmo vendo o “presunto” no chão, um colega daquele defunto não terá reação alguma. A variação de inimigos também deixa bem a desejar, trazendo cerca de 3 ou 4 designs diferentes.
Um mundo Cyberpunk sem polimento e mediano
Para finalizar, Foreclosed é um experiência que tem um saldo positivo, mas que podia ser mais ainda caso tivesse tido um polimento bem maior. As animações são feias demais e deixam muito a desejar, transmitindo a sensação de algo feito às pressas. Pode parecer besteira, mas imagina você atirar e perceber que apenas os braços do personagem se movem, como se o corpo todo não estivesse reagindo ao coice da arma? Ou então se arremessasse uma caçamba de lixo contra o inimigo e ela magicamente se teleportar ao lado deste, o eliminando?
Outros detalhes menores também precisam ser mencionados, como uma vibração que chacoalha muito o controle a cada tiro dado, sem permitir a diminuição de sua intensidade. Ou então as quedas de fps constantes, que em certos trechos está em 60 e depois despenca para 20 e poucos. Os implantes, depois de superaquecer o nosso corpo, simplesmente são desativados, e isso claramente não é um comportamento esperado: faz-se necessário entrar no menu novamente, removê-los e ativá-los em seguida.
Foreclosed é um produto que manda bem no quesito exploração, história e aventura, mas me fez torcer o nariz nas mecânicas de tiro em terceira pessoa, mostrando que definitivamente não sabiam o que estavam fazendo nestes momentos. Além de quê, o jogo precisava de um pouco mais de tempo “no forno” para ser entregue.
