[REVIEW] Pokémon Sword & Shield – Valeu a pena esperar?
Acho que não seria exagero dizer que chegou um dos momentos mais aguardados por aqueles que acompanham videogames há algum tempo: o lançamento de um jogo principal da franquia Pokémon para um console de mesa. Sim, o Switch é um videogame híbrido, porém Pokémon Sword & Shield é o primeiro título canônico em que é possível ligar a sua TV e capturar os seus monstrinhos.
Mas será que esse lançamento foi tudo o que os fãs esperavam? Vamos falar sobre isso.

Os jogos de Pokémon já passaram por algumas transformações ao longo da sua história. Não que a Game Freak seja um exemplo de inovação e ideias disruptivas, mas a evolução tecnológica forçou uma reinvenção da franquia.
Foi o que aconteceu quando os jogos estrearam no 3DS, um console portátil que precisava justificar o uso das três dimensões em seus jogos. Pokémon X/Y foi um tiro certeiro, uma oportunidade para renovar o estilo gráfico e trazer a renderização 3D para a franquia. E essa combinação resultou em um dos melhores jogos de Pokémon, que recebeu outras novidades como o tipo Fada, Mega Evoluções, personalização do treinador, novos modos de batalha e 72 Pokémon originários de Kalos.
A chegada de uma nova geração ao Nintendo Switch despertou essa mesma expectativa nos jogadores. Um console híbrido em que a jogabilidade pode ser dividida entre jogar na sua TV de casa e em qualquer outro lugar abre diversas possibilidades, mas quem disse que a Gamefreak quis explorar essa ideias? Muito pelo contrário, a empresa acabou restringindo ainda mais o jogador, tirando a opção de desativar o Exp. Share e limitando o número de Pokémon que podem ser encontrados em Sword & Shield.
Como se já não bastasse, diversos vídeos de gameplay apareceram na internet dias antes do lançamento oficial. O objetivo era mostrar imperfeições gráficas e como o desempenho do jogo foi mal otimizado.
Você pode imaginar que, com esse cenário pintado, muitos cogitaram que Pokémon Sword & Shield seria um fracasso antes mesmo do seu lançamento. Entretanto, será que esses problemas interferem tanto no jogo?
Novidades pontuais
Pokémon Sword & Shield segue a fórmula de sucesso da franquia: uma história simples, um rival que te acompanha na jornada e uma nova região para explorar. O início já é tão batido que é possível ignorar os diálogos e não perder muitas informações sobre a história.
O primeiro grande momento do jogo é a escolha de seu inicial e, aqui, é impossível não ter aquela sensação de nostalgia – e de responsabilidade – nesta decisão. A partir daí, a região de Galar começa a ficar interessante.
Nessa altura do jogo já conhecemos uma das grandes novidades de Sword & Shield: o Dynamax. Esse fenômeno, que ocorre apenas em algumas regiões de Galar, deixa os Pokémons gigantes, aumentando consideravelmente seus atributos.
Há também o Gigantamax, que traz uma nova forma para Pokémons específicos. Só é possível usar essas mecânicas em lugares abertos, como os estádios (ginásios), e esses recursos ficam ativos por apenas três turnos na batalha.
Galar também traz alguns “Pokémons exclusivos” da região, lembrando os Alola Forms da 7° geração. Meowth, Ponyta e Mr. Mime ganharam versões lindíssimas nesse jogo, além de Sirfetch’d, a evolução de Farfetch’d.
Falando nisso, essa geração merece um destaque especial para os seus Pokémons. Alguns exclusivos de Galar chamaram muita atenção pelo seu design e suas peculiaridades, como Corviknight, Cramorant, Duraludon e Salazzle.
Um dos grandes atrativos de Pokémon Sword & Shield é a Wild Area. Localizada bem no centro de Galar, essa área está repleta de Pokémon diferentes e que se alternam a todo momento. É possível capturar diferentes criaturas, upar o seu time e encontrar Pokémon mais fortes para testar as suas habilidades.
Na Wild Area, o controle da câmera é livre, algo que acontece pela primeira vez na franquia principal de Pokémon. Aqui, quando ativada a comunicação online, também encontramos outros jogadores, mas a interação se limita apenas em ganhar algum item quando interagimos com eles.
Esta área também está repleta de Raid Dens, que são rochas que podem oferecer uma batalha contra um Pokémon gigante. É possível chamar outros players online para te ajudar ou jogar junto com a CPU – algo parecido com as Raids de Pokémon GO. Caso consiga derrotar o Pokémon gigante, é possível capturá-lo no final da batalha.
Outra novidade neste título é o Pokémon Camp. Aqui é possível descansar, brincar com os Pokémons e cozinhar para eles. As atividades podem recuperar HP e PP, aumentar a amizade com o seu time e dar-lhes experiência. É fundamental para aqueles momentos em que não há um Pokémon Center por perto.
Um Pokémon com cara de Pokémon
Apesar de todas essas novidades, Pokémon Sword & Shield mantém a espinha dorsal da franquia. As batalhas por turno, as animações simples e a facilidade em finalizar o jogo são características marcantes de Pokémon e estão presentes em Sword & Shield – porém com pequenas diferenças.
O jogo tenta elaborar uma história um pouco mais ligada ao gameplay (Raids, Wild Área, etc). Porém, são poucos os momentos em que você se surpreende com a trama. A dificuldade está um pouco mais elevada também, muito por conta da Wild Area citada anteriormente e os fortes Pokémon que você pode encontrar logo no início da jornada. É uma ótima oportunidade para elevar um pouco o nível de dificuldade do gameplay.
As batalhas também continuam iguais, mas com novidades de “qualidade de vida” muito bem-vindas. Após lutar ou capturar um Pokémon, as informações dele são gravadas em sua Pokédex, assim é possível saber se os golpes dos seus Pokémon são super efetivos ou fracos demais contra aquela espécie. Esse recurso vem desde Sun & Moon, mas vale destacar.
Outra pequena diferença está no rival Hop. No começo da história parece que teremos mais um rival irritante e bobinho demais, porém com Hop é um pouco diferente. Levando em consideração a simplicidade narrativa dos jogos de Pokémon, Hop até que é muito bem trabalhado e traz questões interessantes para a história. Vale a pena ler os diálogos com esse personagem.
Sword & Shield também excluiu os HM’s. Hidden Machines são golpes (moves) que podem ser usados em outros momentos que não sejam em batalhas. Um exemplo é o Surf, HM que pode ser aprendido por um Pokémon de água, assim você pode ter um “Pokémon barquinho” para explorar os rios daquela região. Ou então o Fly, HM que é aprendido para usar a viagem rápida.
Agora são elementos do jogo que nos fazem explorar os locais que necessitavam de HM. Em Sword & Shield, a bicicleta vira um pedalinho para passarmos pelo rio e existe um táxi voador para a viagem rápida.
E a inovação?
Uma das inúmeras discussões sobre esse novo título de Pokémon era a falta de inovação. Muitos jogadores criticaram a Gamefreak por fazer um jogo muito parecido com os lançados para 3DS. Por outro lado, os jogadores mais clássicos da franquia preferiram focar nas coisas boas que Sword & Shied traz.
Ao contrário do que a Nintendo fez com Mario e Zelda, mudando suas caras nos títulos lançados para o Switch, a Gamefreak preferiu “jogar com segurança” em Pokémon – o que não é algo de todo ruim.
Mesmo sendo três das maiores franquias dos videogames, cada uma possui uma característica única, que pode ser perdida em caso de mudanças muito drásticas. Em Pokémon, conseguir completar a Pokédex, colecionar diferentes espécies e montar times para cada desafio pode ser o suficiente para aquele jogador que acompanha a franquia desde Kanto.
Até para o tão criticado estilo de batalha há argumentos para essa insistência em não mudar. São mínimas as alterações de um jogo para outro, já que há diversas variáveis que devemos levar em consideração na hora de enfrentar outros treinadores. Seria uma escolha sábia refazer todo esse complexo sistema de combate? Como ficaria o cenário competitivo com essa mudança?
Em apenas uma semana, Pokémon Sword & Shield vendeu 6 milhões de cópias, superando Super Smash Bros. Ultimate e se tornando o jogo para Switch que vendeu mais rápido nesse período. Isso diz muita coisa sobre um público fiel e como é complicado mexer em uma franquia tão gigantesca como Pokémon.
Veredito
Infelizmente, Pokémon Sword & Shield falha por não tentar algo grandioso para um primeiro jogo no Switch, algo que poderia trazer novos jogadores para a franquia e manter o seu fiel público. Sem contar todas as escolhas erradas da Game Freak para o jogo. Assim, aqueles que torcem o nariz para a franquia continuarão com esse sentimento e, provavelmente, se decepcionariam com esse novo título.
Porém, esses problemas não afetam tanto os fãs de Pokémon. Sword & Shield consegue trazer o que de melhor a franquia já teve, com mudanças pontuais e precisas, além de uma nova geração com ótimos Pokémons e uma região de Galar que é a cara do jogo.
A falta da National Pokédex, que traz todos os monstrinhos da série, pode ser um problema para o jogador encontrar aquele seu Pokémon favorito. Por isso que é recomendado conferir a lista de Pokémons disponíveis em Sword & Shield.
A história principal dura até 25 horas aproximadamente, caso o jogador jogue de uma forma linear. O pós-game pode render muitas horas de jogo, já que é possível capturar todos os Pokémons, upá-los, montar inúmeros times, preparar Pokémons para o competitivo e muito mais.
Pokémon Sword & Shield é muito recomendado para aqueles que esperam o de sempre da franquia. O jogo é uma boa pedida também para os que se decepcionaram com a 7ª Geração (Sun & Moon e Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon) e querem voltar a jogar um título da série.
Já para os menos familiarizados com Pokémon e querem começar por esse título de estreia no Switch, recomendo levar em consideração que o jogo pode parecer um pouco ultrapassado para o ano de 2019. Porém, bastam algumas horas de gameplay para você sentir o real significado de um jogo de Pokémon, e esse sentimento Pokémon Sword & Shield tem de sobra.
