[REVIEW] Missing Features 2D – Cadê a função que tava aqui? Achoooou!
Quando jogamos um jogo, muitas vezes (ou quase sempre) nos esquecemos da quantidade de elementos que o compõe, como desenhos de personagens, projéteis, música, background, e outros. E Missing Features 2D traz esse conceito de trazer um jogo em que o jogador recupera cada elemento do jogo ao longo da aventura. Porém, será que essa premissa é boa? É o que analisaremos hoje!

A ideia do jogo é que você, jogador, descobriu em seu PC um jogo perdido e resolveu instalá-lo. Acontece que o jogo é instalado com um aviso de que muitas funções e recursos não foram encontrados. Com isso, o jogo se inicia sem aquilo que temos tanto costume de ver em todos os jogos: animações, cenário, músicas, perigos, efeitos sonoros,…, nada! A única coisa que vemos ao iniciar a aventura é uma tela azul, com um “piso” totalmente preto e retângulos que simbolizam nosso personagem (na cor verde) e os perigos que o cenário oferece (na cor vermelha).
À medida em que vamos evoluindo na aventura, vamos achando esses recursos na fase. Então você irá montando o jogo, estágio a estágio, recuperando mecânicas (ex: pulo duplo), sprites de inimigos, música do cenário, imagem de fundo do cenário, efeito paralaxe e tudo mais.
Uma aula sobre jogos
Quando jogamos um videogame, muitas vezes nos esquecemos (ou não sabemos) da quantidade de elementos presentes em um único frame. E Missing Features 2D traz isso a tona, mostrando uma clara evolução de um game, partindo de algo bruto (somente retângulos sem vida na tela) e agregando tantas funções ao longo do caminho que o jogador aos poucos vai se esquecendo de como estava no início da aventura. E no desenvolvimento de jogos – invariavelmente – os desenvolvedores passam por isso: um início absolutamente cru e sem vida para um jogo cheio de vida e mecânicas.
Gráficos e músicas
O jogo é totalmente feito com arte em pixels e, apesar de não ser algo que encha os olhos ou que seja memorável, é bem feito. Contudo, por alguns momentos você percebe algumas coisas estranhas, como o surgimento de projéteis do nada (é possível perceber o objeto sendo criado, e não parece que foi o inimigo que soltou algum tipo de poder). Isso dá um incômodo pela sua estranheza, mas não compromete o gameplay.
Já no quesito efeitos sonoros o jogo vai te fazer desejar não ter achado essa função ao longo do jogo, pois são bem genéricos e sem alma. Inimigos que rastejam fazem um “slurp” (parecido com alguém puxando saliva da bochecha para cima da língua) que é muito incômodo. Infelizmente não encontrei nenhum efeito que pudesse ser destaque aqui.
Musicalmente o jogo segue o padrão dos efeitos sonoros: as músicas são genéricas e – muitas vezes – não combinam com o cenário. Porém, mesmo sendo esquecíveis, elas tem uma função de dar vida a uma aventura até então sem som. No momento em que o jogador consegue liberar a trilha daquele estagio, vem uma empolgação e sentimento de felicidade. Aos poucos, entretanto, esse sentimento vai sendo consumido pela própria genericidade da trilha, o que é uma pena.

Missing Features 2D é uma grata surpresa. Não, ele não é um jogo que é memorável pelas suas mecânicas ou pela sua jogabilidade (apesar de ser um quesito em que o jogo entrega algo simples e bom); ele se destaca pela sua capacidade de nos lembrar sobre o quão complexo é o desenvolvimento dos jogos que adoramos.
A simplicidade é o grande trunfo deste título e – se você deseja aprender e entender acerca dos elementos que estão dentro de um jogo – este pode ser um bom título para sua biblioteca.
