Filme do Mario
No final do ano de 2017 havia essa especulação de que a Nintendo fecharia uma parceria com o estúdio que produziu os Minions e Meu Malvado Favorito para criar um filme do Super Mario. O que era especulação se confirmou! Por meio de um tweet a Nintendo confirmou que teremos sim um novo filme do Super Mario, porém dessa vez um filme em animação.

Mario Kart no celular
A Nintendo pegou todos de surpresa anunciando em sua conta no Twitter o lançamento de um novo jogo mobile, e mais uma vez um jogo que é amado por uma multidão de jogadores: Mario Kart. O jogo foi batizado de Mario Kart Tour, seu lançamento está previsto para 2019 e não dispomos de informações sobre como será a mecânica de jogo, se será um jogo free ou pago, se contará com micro-transações etc.

Nintendo Switch Online
O que era para o início deste ano de 2018, ficou para o final do ano. A Nintendo confirmou em sua conta do Twitter que o serviço pago online será implantado somente em setembro deste ano.
Este já é o segundo adiamento do lançamento. O lançamento original estava previsto para 2017, porém em junho do mesmo ano foi adiado para 2018.
Não há maiores informações sobre como o serviço funcionará. A única alteração no site oficial do serviço foi agora a inclusão da data de lançamento.
Resultados financeiros
A Big N mostrou, em números, o ótimo ano de 2017 que teve. Seu novo console vendeu em menos de um ano de vida 14,86 milhões de unidades, mais do que o Wii U que vendeu 13,5 milhões durante seu tempo de vida. O 3DS também não vendeu mal, com 3 milhões de unidades vendidas. Os números mostram que a confiança na Nintendo voltou.
O game mais vendido do ano foi Super Mario Odyssey, com 9 milhões de unidades vendidas. Mario Kart 8 vem em segundo (7.3 milhões) e Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon em terceiro (com .7.1 milhões). The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild ficou com 6.7 milhões de cópias vendidas.
O mercado mobile não ficou de fora e gerou uma receita muito bem-vinda de 29 milhões de Ienes.
