Um pouco sobre a história do jogo
Wyoming – EUA, verão de 1989. Você está na pele de Henry e sua história pregressa é apresentada (não entrarei em detalhes para não estragar a sua experiência). Após os eventos do prólogo, buscando fugir de problemas pessoais, Henry entra para o serviço de guarda-florestal de Wyoming. Lá somos apresentados para sua Supervisora, Delilah, com quem você mantém contato por meio de um pequeno rádio comunicador.
Tudo parece que será calmo. Entretanto, alguns eventos ocorrem, te obrigando a explorar a floresta e resolver situações para as quais não estava preparado. Com aquele ar de mistério, o jogo tem uma narrativa tão fluida e divertida que você, sem perceber, é jogado para dentro daquele mundo.
Há que se ressaltar, porém, que Firewatch é muito mais do que um jogo de investigação ou de mistério, é também sobre o ser humano e como cada um lida com as situações e escolhas cotidianas.
Jogabilidade
Este é um walking simulator em primeira pessoa. Você apenas irá explorar os locais, sem batalhar com inimigos e sem uma interação direta com outros personagens. É você, a floresta, uma tarefa e, claro, o seu rádio comunicador.
O jogo em si é bem linear e direto. Os capítulos são divididos em dias, cada qual com uma tarefa diferente para cumprir. Cada objetivo é bem claro: realizar atividades rotineiras de sua função como guarda-florestal (ou de um Seu Gualda, como diria Zé Colmeia), indo do ponto A para o ponto B e resolver um determinado problema.
Munido apenas de um mapa (ainda sem todas as trilhas do parque florestal) e uma bússola, Henry caminha por longas trilhas até o ponto onde está o problema. Ao longo do percurso, abre caixas com suprimentos e atualizações para seu mapa, descobre novos pontos turísticos, e muito mais. Falando assim, parece até ser extremamente entediante, porém durante todo o trajeto você conta com o rádio.
Ahhhh, o rádio! Como é bom conversar com a Delilah (ou D., para os íntimos)! Delilah e Henry são dois personagens com personalidades próprias e os diálogos são tão divertidos, envolventes, e, principalmente, controlados pelo jogador que eu simplesmente queria mais e mais dessas conversas. Para cada pergunta, abre-se uma quantidade de opções de respostas, que por sua vez têm suas respectivas réplicas. Provavelmente isso não interferirá no final da história, mas isso acaba por tornar a minha e a sua experiência distintas. E a forma como eles conduziram o crescimento da intimidade de ambos os personagens junto com a evolução do enredo é algo impressionante.
Como você pode perceber, o jogo se foca basicamente na narrativa para se sustentar e ganhar o jogador, e faz isso, na minha opinião, com maestria. Porém, reconheço que esta mecânica pode afastar alguns jogadores, visto que os elementos de jogabilidade são poucos e consistem em, basicamente, analisar objetos/documentos e procurar novas pistas. Tudo que você faz com relação ao gameplay tem um propósito: desenvolver a história.
Ainda no aspecto “jogabilidade”, o único problema que percebi na versão do Switch foram as quedas de framerate (o jogo dá umas travadas momentâneas). Porém, isto não comprometeu a minha experiência com o jogo.
Sobre o Áudio
Os sons predominantes são o do ambiente e do rádio, e isso te dá uma imersão que é fantástica.
A meu ver, o uso de fones de ouvido torna a experiência ainda mais rica ao explorar a floresta. Sons de passos, passaros, água e até aquele barulho inesperado do meio da mata se tornam muito mais reais e te aproxima ainda mais daquele ambiente.
Contudo, infelizmente este título está disponível apenas em inglês e exige certo domínio do idioma, pois constantemente estamos submetidos às escolhas de diálogos. Delilah o tempo todo faz perguntas ou fala algo que abre as opções de respostas. Essas escolhas possuem tempo para serem feitas, ou seja, há que se ter uma certa capacidade de ler, interpretar as falas da supervisora, e analisar as respostas que temos disponíveis. Tudo isto para tomarmos a melhor decisão com base nas nossas próprias convicções.
Veredito
Firewatch é um daqueles jogos de jogabilidade simples, que te suga para aquele universo e te faz viver na pele do personagem. Sua história é envolvente e você quer logo saber a resolução do mistério, porém a trama é tão gostosa, principalmente pelos diálogos com a Delilah, que você também não quer que ela termine.
Sinceramente, eu não gostei do modo com o qual que eles encerraram a história; esperava um desfecho mais especial, mas nem sempre temos o final que queremos em nossas vidas, não é? Porém, mesmo com esta “frustração”, acredito que a jornada, as conversas e tudo o que vivi durante o desenvolvimento da narrativa compensa muito o tempo que despendi para finalizar este game.
Adorei ter sido Henry por alguns dias e ter a possibilidade de conhecer a Delilah. Ambos os personagens são tão reais e factíveis que em nenhum momento senti que estava lidando com dois seres computadorizados. Foi tudo tão orgânico e real, que me impressionou e me cativou desde os primeiros minutos.
Por isso, recomendo este jogo para quem quer um walking simulator com foco total na história, nos personagens e na situação. E lembre-se que este jogo está totalmente em inglês o que exigirá um domínio do idioma, já que você terá tempo para selecionar os diálogos que achar mais adequado para cada situação, e, como dito anteriormente, as conversas no rádio são espetaculares e são importantíssimas para a experiência como um todo.
