Retrospectiva Wii U (parte 4) – 2015, o inverno está chegando

Tendo em vista a proximidade de lançamento do Switch, o nosso leitor Emanoel Vitor Barbosa nos deu uma sugestão de termos uma retrospectiva do Wii U. Por isso, preparamos essa série de posts em que contaremos post a post os anos de vida desse console tão bom e que tantas alegrias nos deu, leia também a Parte 1, Parte 2 e Parte 3 dessa retrospectiva. Vamos continuar!

O ano era 2015, a Nintendo arriscou o que podia no ano anterior sem colher os frutos esperados, o mercado não comprou os lançamentos da empresa para o ano anterior e o Wii U via seus adversários cada vez mais distantes, para nós brasileiros a coisa foi pior, já que começamos o ano com a saída da Big N do país. Com uma E3 voltada para o 3DS, basicamente os outros títulos do Wii U que foram apresentados durante a conferência foram os que a Big N já havia mostrado no ano anterior, o que criou certa angústia e raiva nos fãs do console de mesa, pois sabiam que o fim estaria próximo. A única novidade foi mesmo Star Fox Zero.

Promessas de 2014 para o ano de 2015.

Apesar de tudo e de todos os problemas, tivemos um ótimo ano de jogos em 2015. Em setembro, Super Mario Maker finalmente fora lançado e, agora, todos nós viramos o Shigeru Miyamoto e desenhamos as nossas próprias fases.

Em outubro, foi lançado Yoshi’s Wooly World, com um visual novo para a série de jogos. Agora o Yoshi estava em um mundo de lã, bonito e desafiador. Ainda em outubro, foi lançado um game de uma franquia que os fãs adoram: Fatal Frame, com o jogo Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water. Apesar de dividir opiniões, esse jogo é um bom título de terror para o console.

Em dezembro, tivemos Xenoblade Chronicles X que chegou com uma proposta de JRPG com exploração que agradou também ao ocidente. Um mundo vasto e com gráficos lindos. Agora era permitido voar com seus robôs por um mundo imenso. Ainda em dezembro, foi lançado Fast Racing Neo, um jogo que, para muitos, é um sucessor espiritual de uma franquia que a Nintendo parece ter abandonado: F-Zero.

Nem tudo são flores

Dois títulos geraram muito hype e muita frustração: Mario Tennis e Devil’s Third. Mario Tennis trouxe pouco ou nenhum avanço para a série; pra falar a verdade, ele até regrediu em alguns quesitos como desbloqueio de personagens e diversão em partidas solo, porém ainda assim é um jogo divertido. Já Devil’s Third (o qual não joguei ainda), alguns que compraram gostaram muito do game, outros odiaram, fato é que o fim precoce do seu online acabou matando o jogo antes do tempo. Eu ainda espero poder experimentá-lo um dia para tirar as minhas conclusões.

O nascimento de um gigante….

Splatoon foi concebido na E3 de 2014, mas seu nascimento foi em maio de 2015. A nova IP da Nintendo gerou muita expectativa e correspondeu a todas elas. A nova IP, que nasceu gigante, conseguiu associar um Shooter com mecânicas novas que tornam a experiência de jogar online extremamente divertida. Sem a seriedade dos jogos concorrentes, Splatoon mostrou ao mundo que é possível um jogo de tiro ser para toda e qualquer idade, demonstrou que não é necessário violência exacerbada nesse tipo de jogo.

…. e a despedida de outro gigante!

Dois meses depois do lançamento de Splatoon, em julho, faleceu o presidente da Nintendo, Satoru Iwata. Isso abalou o mundo dos games, pois era um cara respeitado por toda a indústria, não só por ser presidente de uma das maiores empresas do ramo, mas também pela sua contribuição para o mercado enquanto exercia a sua função de desenvolvedor. Foi uma época triste.

Nintendo de ouro

Em 2015 a Nintendo esteve presente no Video Game Awards e levou prêmios com Splatoon (melhor jogo de tiro; melhor multiplayer) e com Super Mario Maker (jogo para a família). Mario Maker ainda concorreu ao prêmio de melhor jogo do ano, vencido por The Witcher 3. Ainda, a Nintendo concorreu ao prêmio de melhor produtora do ano, vencido pela CD Projekt RED, e com Splatoon para melhor jogo para a família. Por ter sido lançado em dezembro, Xenoblade Chronicles X concorreu como melhor RPG do ano em 2016 (Vencido por uma DLC do The Witcher 3).

Vendas

O ano de 2015 foi um misto de ano bom e ano ruim. Com 3.5 milhões de unidades vendidas, o Wii U se distanciou ainda mais dos concorrentes que venderam 17.5 milhões (PS4) e 8.6 milhões (XOne). Fonte: VGChartz.

2016

O ano de 2016 batia à porta com rumores surgindo de um novo console, parece que 2015 trouxe com ele o inverno e a Nintendo estava, aos poucos, deixando seu console na geladeira.
