A plataforma de financiamento coletivo conhecida como Kickstarter se consolidou como a maior no ramo, principalmente no setor de games. Foi de lá que surgiu boa parte dos jogos indies lançados nos últimos anos e não tenho receio em falar que também alguns dos melhores jogos, desbancando inclusive muitos títulos AAA.
A cena de desenvolvimento indie cresceu e o mercado, os desenvolvedores e principalmente os jogadores perceberam que não era mais preciso esperar que as grandes empresas produzissem algo. Jogador e desenvolvedor podiam se unir para dar vida a jogos novos que provavelmente jamais teriam visto a luz do dia sem esse novo modelo de negocio. Claro que nem tudo é perfeito e existem muitos projetos que dão errado ao longo do processo, mas no geral os que investem nesse tipo de negocio (como eu) têm tido bons resultados.
E onde isso é bom para a Nintendo?
Geralmente o processo de financiamento começa com um jogo que será lançado para PC, alguns costumam ter versões para Xbox One e PS4 ou então trazem as versões para esses consoles em suas metas estendidas. Alguns jogos ainda trazem versões para o PSVita e o 3DS, mas poucos para o Wii U por diversos motivos. Isso tende a mudar nos próximos anos com a chegada do NX que terá no minimo o poder de fogo do One/PS4 e segundo tudo indica, será uma plataforma muito simples de se desenvolver e portar isso.
Isso deve agradar os desenvolvedores indies que terão poucos motivos para não trazer seus jogos à nova plataforma, claro seria preciso que a base instalada fosse boa o suficiente e que as metas fossem alcançadas, mas o NX deve receber uma leva maior de jogos indies feitos através da plataforma e isso tende a reduzir um dos problemas enfrentado pelo seu antecessor que foi a falta de jogos thirdparty.
Não sabemos ainda se as grandes empresas irão dar suporte ao console como queremos, mas isso não seria um problema tão grande caso tivéssemos mais jogos vindo da cena indie ao console. E não se engane, pois existem jogos realmente impressionantes saindo da parceria entre desenvolvedor e jogadores.
